Community Overview The North Slope Borough is the largest borough in Alaska, encompassing over 15% of the state's total land area. It consists primarily of the north and northeastern coast of Alaska, including the Brooks Range, north of the Arctic Circle. The TransAlaska Pipline begins here. Communities include: Anaktuvuk Pass, Atqasuk, Barrow, Deadhorse, Kaktovik, Nuiqsut, Point Hope, Point Lay, Prudhoe Bay, and Wainwright.
